Happily Ever After- Rokee's story as told by his owners
We are writing this letter to thank Gene Wade and the Daviess County Friends for Animals for the opportunity to adopt our newest furry baby Rokee.
He is an adorable Yorkie with a huge personality. He is very loving and behaves so well. We already had a Yorkie and an English Mastiff that were best friends and Rokee was able to fit right in with them. He, of course, sleeps in our bed at night with our other Yorkie "Coco".
Rokee has shown he loves children as well. We have grand children of all ages that come to our house and he has accepted them and in return they love him also.
We have fallen in love with Rokee and would be heartbroken if something would happen to him
Ron's mother lives with us as well, who suffers from advanced dimentia, but when the 2 Yorkies are around it's like all her troubles go away. They have made her days so much more meaningful. This means so much to our family. Gene has brought more joy to our house that is indescribable.

Happily Ever After- oreo's Story as told by his owners Hello to Daviess County Friends For Animals, Georgina asked me to write to you about our recent adoption of Oreo. A female, Chi/Rat Terrier mix, who weighs all of 7.5 pounds. Early in July we found ourselves with-out any pets. Our oldest and last dog passed away. It was too quiet around the house even though we weren't sure about another dog so soon. So after much talk, thinking and praying, we agreed to look at some shelters/rescues. Which is where our other dogs had come from. But it had to be the right dog. No ho-hum dog for this house. Not one of the other dogs we met really was a fit for all of us. So we were still look-ing... We came across Daviess Co. FFA online at Petfinder and saw some dogs listed. And wondered if it would be a match or the same as the other places. Well Oreo was the only small dog left and we made an appointment to meet her. She was an instant hit. She liked us all and we liked her. Even my husband sat down on the ground so she could sit in his lap! Love at first lick for us all. Oreo was able to come live with us and is settling in very well. We've had her for almost 3 weeks now. She loves to cuddle and is a hoot when she plays. She tosses her piggy or a bone and then chases it. She seems very smart and listens and learns well. She greets us even when gone just a few minutes by jumping up on the springs in her feet and wriggling at the same time! Our 117lb dog never did that! It is very different having a tiny dog versus an extra large, but we like it. I think if you asked her, Oreo would say she is happy. Although, she doesn't like our country bees. She found one with her paw, but we were forgiven a short time later. She also likes her human Grandma and Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. She is very loving and gives many kisses to those she meets. We are glad to have made her part of our family. And hope for many snuggles for many years to come.
